Dear Friends of the BVCS,

The news is full of stories about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and concerns about the virus are an important issue that the Artistic Directors and the Board of Directors of the Beaver Valley Choral Society must address. While this is not a time for overreaction or panic, it is a time for us to take the issue seriously.

In an effort to control the spread of COVID-19, health experts are recommending that it is best to avoid bringing large groups of people together. In response, many businesses, fraternal organizations, religious institutions, and educational institutions have announced that they will temporarily suspend or cancel group activities and classes.

Therefore, the BVCS Board of Directors after careful consideration has made the decision to cancel all rehearsals and scheduled concerts. The cancellation includes our Lenten Depth of Mercy concerts that were scheduled for March 28 & 29, and April 4 & 5 as well as The Treble Youth Chorale concert that was scheduled for May 8, 2020.

The decision to cancel was difficult considering our love for music and our commitment to provide quality and meaningful music to our audiences. However, it was a necessary decision to ensure that we do not put any additional risk on our members or our audiences.

Thank you for understanding the necessity for our decision. Please follow the recommendations of the CDC and stay healthy.

Best Regards,

Lee Pfeifer

BVCS President & CEO
